Prayer Request
Heather is having brain surgery this week on Thursday. .
Brain surgery. It's incomprehensible at our age, isn't it? At any age, really... But this is a woman who blogs, who parents, who is just about one of the sweetest girls you'll ever read. Her daughter Emma Grace has intensely special needs. They've already been through so much stress. And now the doctors have discovered a tumor in this woman's brain. She is my age.
.
I don't know what God has in store for her family, but surely He thinks they are pretty awesome - to be able to handle the stress and uncertainty with the grace that He continues to pour upon them.
.
Please pray that the doctors will be successful in the surgery. And that Heather's recovery be speedy and complete. I've signed up to pray, won't you consider it too?

Busy, Busy, Dreadfully Busy, Much, Much too Busy For You!
5 points to anyone who can guess where that's from....
.
In 5 days, my in-laws will be arriving for a visit. Even though they will be sleeping at a hotel, you know they will be here most of the time they are in town, so I am working on pulling together everything. In 6 days, my sister-in-law and her husband, who will be houseguests, will be arriving. In 7 days, my daughter will be having her First Communion. And that evening, we are hosting dinner for about 20 people.
.
So, I have quite a list of TO DO. I can't seem to get rolling on the dress. I bought the material and pattern over 6 weeks ago (so I wouldn't be rushing at the last minute - little good that did me). I will be devoting an entire entry to the whole dress issue. I also would like to get the window treatments for the kitchen/breakfast area done. Oh, and I decided yesterday that I must get window treatments up in the living room. I have decided to go with something very simple and we agreed on a fabric for that room last night.
.
But now, I'm off to finish cutting out the dress. With any persistence, I will finish it today so I can get the house projects done.
.
Oh, and I've lost 10 pounds. !!! Only 822 more to go. ;)

Empty Promises
I am not going to promise blog entries about anything. :) Things have been busy, but not crazy. And well, blogging has just fallen by the wayside. I'm sorry for not keeping in touch better.
.
My mother came to visit last week and we had a nice time. It was wonderful going into DC (though, it was freezing and the biting wind was a bit much). I hope she'll come back when the weather is milder and we can see more. I have thought all week of the other things I should have taken her to see, the things practically in our backyard that are just neat. So, like I said, hopefully she'll come back.
.
The girls and I finally met most of Husband's family that lives in the Baltimore area. His cousin invited us up to her home for Easter dinner. It was fun and relaxed and just really nice to meet them all. We look forward to spending more time with them - and many of them will be at our home next month.
.
Speaking of, we're planning the celebration for Bookworm's First Communion. She's been so wonderful and so interested in her faith and for months, she has been anticipating this grace. We're excited for her and happy that her grandparents and godparents will be traveling here to be with her for such an important day.
.
I've been sewing a lot. Bookworm had a field trip to this place. We've been doing a study on early America, so it was fitting. I made her a dress to wear and she also asked for an apron, like her doll, Kirsten. I will post pictures on flickr next week. I also have made some cute baby things. .
This weekend, we are traveling to NY state for the baptism of our friends' daughter. They've asked us to be her godparents and we are flattered and excited. It will be nice to spend a weekend with "family".
.
I promise to TRY to post next week. I would also like to post pictures of all my crafts of late.
.
Until then, God Bless you.
.
Also, please pray for a friend of ours, who lost her husband two days ago. There is so much sadness going around, along with a new friend whose mother is dying, a blogger who just found out she has a brain tumor, another blogger who lost her husband two days ago... Please just pray for all those who suffer and all who mourn.

Sounds of Sunday
My newly 5-year old daughter opening the door to the basement and yelling over the sound of a rockin' drum solo, "More cowbell!!!"
.
Man, life is fantastic.
